"The public of the exhibition saw us in very different ways: savages, tourists, strangers, ignorants, comics, artists, boy-scouts, or as nothing at all. And there where also those people who could never find the performance announced in the program as "Grand Tourists" - we actually were asked for directions ourselves. What interested us in this experiment, more than our own activity or script, was what happened "in between", what this two hours experience made visible. Notably, the way rules and interactions structure the group of exhibition visitors, and how they would mark out their mental territory in response to our invasion, by the way they looked at us. From simply lost or free spirited ramblers we were made to be trespassers or idiots. This lead us to a movement back and forth between the roles we decided on for ourselves and the roles projected onto us by the spectator. Thus giving up the control of what we make visible, we were ourselves able to enter a state of surprise and discovery." from the experience of Grand Tourists during the exhibition "Nepotists, opportunists, freaks, friends and strangers intersecting in the grey zone", organized by ooooo at Z33 in Hasselt, on the 13th of March 2010.
